BOSS DB66 Dr. Beat Metronome

BOSS took metronomes to a new level when they developed the Dr. Beat. Every drummer will find this worldwide standard valuable in rehearsal, studio, school programs and live gigs.

Boss DB66 Dr.Beat Metronome

If you're serious about drumming, make Dr. Beat your daily practice companion. It will give you the ability to hear quarter note pulses, eighth note pulses, sixteenth note pulses and quarter note triplet pulses. Each of those rhythms is recognizable by its own tone and has its own volume slider, making it possible to hear simple subdivisions and more complex meters.

Another great feature is the "Tap" button. Many times, in order to achieve the right feel for a song, playing it at a particular tempo is key.  Dr. Beat allows you to tap along with a song to figure out the exact number of beats per minute, allowing up to 6 beats per measure. Then, you can toggle back to "Play" mode and lock in with the metronome.

Dr. Beat is a great tool in live performance situations. It features a little red light that pulses on the quarter note. When playing relatively new songs, for example, you can turn the volume faders down, set the beats per minute, and watch the light to make sure you start the song at the right tempo. Also in a live situation, it may be a challenge to hear the metronome click over the other instruments, so, you can use the pulsing light for reference.

The Dr. Beat has an external speaker as well as a headphones jack.
