SPLASH Cymbal
|
Appropriately named, splash cymbals add a
"splash" of color to your playing. Splash cymbals are smaller,
thinner, and delicate cymbals that respond and fade quickly (a sound
very similar to the "choke" effect created when grabbing a
crash cymbal after it is struck). This quick bright attack and short
decay is how the splash acquired its name. Their main use is to set
quick and sometimes delicate accents of short duration within the musical
context.
