Sheila E Kid's Collection
Famous percussionist Sheila
E is a multi-faceted performer, producer and composer.
Through her work with various children's charities, she
is committed to promoting a healthy self-awareness
through discovering the
joy of the drum. With her collection, Sheila hopes to transform this young
joy into a life-long passion. These instruments
will provide years of culturally enriching, educational
fun!
"Drumming provides emotional, social, cultural and physical,
even spiritual benefits, and since it's easier than ever to find great,
affordable instruments -- from complete drum sets to bongos and
tambourines -- there's never been a better time to take up the
drums."

E Junior Congas
Wow! It's Sheila E showing
us the beautiful blue congas from her Kid's
Collection. A very special small-sized
conga, it's perfect for current players, or students just
starting out. The fiberglass conga set includes 8-inch/9
-inch conga drums, perfect for smaller hands, mounted on
a height-adjustable stand. Natural bison skin heads
provide great sound. They are both finished in Sheila's special
Angel Blue metallic color. Conga drums, typically played
in Latin music, are now used in all music styles.
Sheila
E Mini Bongos
Bongos come in pairs
are were originally designed to be played
supported between the knees. Many modern
percussionists (like Sheila E) play standing, so
stands are popular accessory. Or, children can
sit or hold them and march with them. The two
head sizes give two different pitches, high and
low, which can be combined to play the liveliest
of Latin rhythms.
Fiberglass
bongos: 5-inch and 6-inch set featuring natural
skins and Sheila's Angel Blue color (stand not
included).
Wood Bongos: 6-inch and 7-inch maple and
mahogany bongos finished in cherry stain and
outfitted with pre-stretched calfskin heads.

E Tube/Floor Drums
Frank (the dad) and Andrew
(the son) love to play their Sheila E hand drums -- a lot!
Frank is playing a floor drum and Andrew is
playing a tube drum. These
mahogany/maple drums are finished in a rich cherry
stain, outfitted with pre-stretched calfskin heads and
have a deep, rich tone. The tube drum can be played between your legs (like Andrew is doing) or held with its
strap while you're dancing around. The floor drum sits
on the floor, tabletop or your lap. By the way,
Frank just happens to be the proud owner of
Allegro Music.

E Kid's Timbales
Played with sticks instead of hands,
timbales (pronounced tim-bah-lees) are two
pitched drums (high and low) mounted on a stand. Sheila's timbales have colorful green and
blue metallic wooden shells with bright yellow and red hoops.
These 10-inch and 12-inch diameter drums feature
kid-simple drum key tuning. The set also
includes a cowbell (not shown) and a sturdy
chrome-plated adjustable stand.
In Latin music, timbales keep the beat for
the band. The timbale player plays a steady
pulse on the side (shell) of the drum or on the
cowbell. To add excitement to the song,
sometimes the timbale player will play a series
of rapid notes or a "fill-in."
