  Allegro student performs guitar solo (Dec 10, 2009)
At a recent concert, Christopher Mahoney and his school band performed The Beatles "Come Together." Christopher played an awesome guitar solo!! Hey Christopher, good to see you putting your music lessons to use. We're proud of you here at Allegro.
 
  Instructor Neil Hendry - new album due out this Christmas
Neil was born into a musical family. Son of Hugh Hendry (1944-1994), guitarist for the Saskatchewan folk band the Prairie Higglers, Neil shares his father's passion for songwriting, singing and playing. He's the main composer and lyricist - his band cranks out original songs, refreshing in style and sound. Humanity's relationship with nature is their springboard for inspiration. The band is full of talent including former Allegro instructor Ed Vitton and student Howard Pasternak. They are called Powdered Hoof: tunes, news and more on their WEBSITE. Well worth a visit!

  Jonimer joins our store staff (Sept 2009)
That hard-working young dude you've seen around the store lately is a Grade 12 co-op student from Breabeuf College. Jonimer will be helping out with shipments, inventory, cleaning, instrument repairs and whatever else Frank throws his way. Feel free to say hello and welcome him to Allegro.

  Andre Renaud finalist in VH1 songwriting contest (April/09)

  Toronto Summer String Festival Camp- join the excitement of music making! (Summer/2008)
Sessions beginning July 7 offer aspiring string players the chance to play in an orchestral setting. The focus will be primarily on the skills necessary to play with other musicians. Directed by Allegro Music instructor Rebecca Brown.

  Goodbye to Herman Mallinger, February 3, 2006
All of us at Allegro Music mourn the passing of Herman. He was the previous owner of the store and close friend. He was a sweet, gentle man who enjoyed every minute of his life. He was loved by all his students, fellow musicians and the community ... truly a man that will be missed by all.
